Extension privacy

What the extension does

The Competition Companion Assistant helps you review competition pages and fill ordinary contact details after you press a help button. It never submits an entry or fills CAPTCHA, payment, password, date-of-birth, consent, marketing or competition-answer fields.

Information stored on your device

If you save your contact details in the extension, Chrome keeps them on that device. They can include your name, email address, telephone number and postal address. After you press a help button, the extension may place the relevant details into a competition form or show them for you to review and copy. Your saved extension profile is not sent to Competition Companion's servers.

Information read from pages

After you press a help button, the extension may read the current competition page, including a page shown inside Competition Companion, to find ordinary contact fields, a competition question or email instructions. It does not watch your browsing in the background and does not read unrelated tabs.

AI question assistance

If you ask for AI help, the detected question, a small amount of nearby page text, the competition reference and page address are sent securely to Competition Companion. Email addresses and telephone numbers are removed from the page text before it is sent to the AI service. A factual answer may be reused to avoid paying for the same answer twice. Creative answers are not shared between members.

Sharing, advertising and selling

Extension data is used only to provide the user-requested assistance. It is not sold, used for personalised advertising or shared for marketing. Human access is limited to security, support requested by the user, legal obligations and aggregated operational data.

Permissions

• Current tab: to read and fill the page only after you press a help button.
• Storage: to keep your saved contact details in Chrome on your device.
• Windows: to open a simple competition window when a page cannot appear inside Competition Companion.
• Competition website access: to work on secure HTTPS forms from different promoters. Chrome asks you before this is switched on.

Your choices

You can edit or remove the safe profile from the extension, revoke website access in Chrome, or uninstall the extension to remove its local extension storage. Account data held by the website can be exported or deleted from the signed-in profile page.
